Hiking is one of the most fundamental forms of outdoor activity. It is essentially energetic walking undertaken to explore one’s natural surroundings. Hikers usually seek out the most beautiful and pristine environments to explore, often in groups. Hiking in mountainous regions is referred to as trekking. This is usually much more physically demanding than hiking.
Hiking and trekking promote strengths such as perseverance, dedication, and endurance. These activities also require people to think of
their goal and plan how to get there. Since these are often undertaken as group activities, they promote team building as people need to encourage and support all the members of the group to ensure that they reach the goal.
